PT Alam Energy Renewables (Alam Energy) has completed a 1.1MW (DC) rooftop solar power plant for PT DNP Indonesia (DNP Indonesia), the Indonesian subsidiary of Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP), and completion ceremony was held on February 27, 2025.
In this project, Alam Energy installed a 1.1MW industrial roof-mounted solar power system covering a total area of approximately 5,000㎡ for the DNP Indonesia Karawang plant located in Karawang, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. The electricity generated by this power plant will be used by DNP Indonesia. The installation of the solar power system at the DNP Indonesia Karawang plant by Alam Energy has been carried out in two phases, and with the completion of this second phase, the total output is now approximately 2.7MW.
Naoto Hanai, President Director of DNP Indonesia stated, “DNP consistently considers the coexistence of business activities and the global environment, and actively engages in solving environmental issues with the aim of achieving a sustainable environment, society, and economy. Through the installation of this rooftop solar power plant, DNP aims to promote the production of environmentally friendly products and contribute to solving environmental issues, which are a global challenge.”
DNP Indonesia will be able to benefit from price-competitive clean renewable energy without having to undertake initial investments such as the cost of installing solar power generation equipment. Additionally, as Indonesia’s main method of power generation relies heavily on coal-fired power, switching a portion of electricity consumption to renewable energy is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 2,300 tons per year during the contract period for both Phase 1 and Phase 2 combined. This will also contribute to the Indonesian government’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.
